Mid-State wine & Liquors for the last 15+ years continues to partner with the Houston Live Stock Rodeo (HLSR) winery relations committee. Together they raise funds for the current and future Texas youth generations scholarship programs. In 2021, the Rodeo winery committee, Mid-State Wine and local Groceries like HEB and retailers like Specs will support this years winning wineries. The show case of the TOP awarded wines along with the DOUBLE GOLD, GOLD medaled Unique wines from Mid-State will be displayed in May of 2021.
Mid-State registered wineries from different countries to meet the HLSR high competition standards. They competed against top recognized wineries from all of the world and awarded these medals:
- Bearitage Old Vine Zinfandel form Lodi, California- Double Gold award
- Protos Tempranillo from Spain, Ribera Del Duero – Gold Class champion award
- Gravel Bar Cabernet from Washington – Gold award
- Gravel Bar Alluvial Red Blend from Washington – Gold award
- Arra family Vineyards Shiraz, from South Africa – Gold award
- Arra family Vineyards Cape Vintage red blend of Pinotage-Shiraz from South Africa – Gold Reserve Class Champion award
