Natural wine the same as Organic wine?

Natural wine” has become a loose term that describes wines made with minimal intervention in the vineyards and in the cellar, but it can be a bit of a misnomer.  Natural wine, is made from grapes not sprayed with pesticides or herbicides. Natural winemakers handpick their grapes instead of relying on machines to harvest them which is the purest of the pure. The wines are made with very low intervention and with no additives to the wine. However, Natural wine is often described as having funky or sour aromas and flavors that are reminiscent of cider.  This, is because natural wine, like cider, has a slower fermentation.

Organic wine” is made with grapes grown on an organic farm.  The same way an apple orchard could be organic.   The organic wine grapes tend to be healthier in general and therefore produce heartier skins and higher concentrations of all of those good for your healthy anthocyanins and antioxidants, including polyphenols and cardio-friendly resveratrol.  Polyphenols are micronutrients that we get through certain plant-based foods like Coffee which are packed with antioxidants and potential health benefits. This can improve or help treat different health issues (digestion, weight management, diabetes, neurodegenerative disease, cardiovascular diseases etc.).
